Relevance of the project actions
The LIFE CAÑADAS project, coordinated by the Autonomous University of Madrid, has just published an animation video, the main objective of which is to disseminate the objectives and actions that will be carried out until 2024. It is an ambitious project, funded by the European Commission , to bring life back to a part of the livestock routes of the Autonomous Communities of Madrid and Castilla - La Mancha.

Violeta Hevia, researcher of the LIFE CAÑADAS project, explains that “restoration actions are progressing at a good pace in 60 sections of the livestock track network where we operate in the Community of Madrid, and actions are about to begin in the Cañada Real Conquense , where we will restore several very important resting places and watering holes for the proper development of transhumance along this livestock route ”.
The Autonomous University of Madrid is the coordinating partner and the General Directorate of Natural Environment and Biodiversity of Castilla La Mancha; the General Directorate of Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Community of Madrid; the Campo Adentro Association and SEO / BirdLife are the participating partners.
